Pelto's Barn

• Pelto's Barn is located 15 miles to the west of Peterborough in the town of Troy. The smoke-free nightclub, which opened in 1984, caters to people 21 years and older. The night club is open every Saturday night from 7 p.m. until midnight, with the exception of July, August and December when it is closed. Inside the club is a large dance floor and seating for up to 200 patrons. The club features live music -- usually country -- on Saturday evenings. Pelto's Barn has a $7 cover charge for singles and $13 for couples as of winter 2011. Food such as hamburgers, hot dogs and french fries are available.

• Th Amber Room is located in the downtown section of Nashua, approximately 29 miles to the east of Peterborough. Its main room features a long bar, leather booths, a separate VIP area for private parties and a large stage where live artists and bands perform. The room's sound and lighting systems are high-tech. A second room in the nightclub features DJ's playing '80s, '90s and party music; VIP seating; a stage and a light show. Th Amber Room features live entertainment that includes rock bands and male revues. The nightclub, which enforces a dress code, is open on Fridays and Saturdays from 10 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. It is occasionally open on Thursdays for special events.

• Michael Timothy's Urban Bistro Wine & Jazz Bar is a combination restaurant-bar nightclub located in Nashua. The restaurant is open seven days a week for lunch and dinner. The bar features local, national and international wines. Cases of wine are also available for purchase from its wine cellar. The restaurant portion of the club features fine dining in a casual atmosphere. The entrees include local and seafood cuisine. You can also order pizzas after the restaurant closes. • The Gold Club of Bedford, approximately 30 miles east of Peterborough, is open seven days a week and has a full bar and restaurants. The club has 12,000 square feet of entertainment space that includes multiple stages, privates suites, a billiards lounge and a semi-private couch room. This gentlemen's night club also has a high-tech sound system, light and video show. The club opens at noon Monday through Saturday. On Sunday it opens at 4 p.m. Closing time is 2 a.m. Monday through Thursday, and 4 a.m. Friday and Saturday. Patrons can order lunch and dinner. The club also host bachelor parties and private events.
