Causes of Tinnitus - List of Conditions Leading to Tinnitus

There are various health conditions that cause or even worsen an already present tinnitus.
However, the specific cause has always been a mystery in most cases.
Cell damage in the inner ear is usually the most common cause.
Inside the ear, there are minute and delicate hairs that move corresponding to pressure from sound waves.
As a result, an electrical signal is released from the nerve in the ear to the brain.
In turn, the brain will interpret it as a sound.
The problem comes in when the hairs get damaged (either bend or broken).
They can release electrical signals that are random and this leads to the condition termed tinnitus.
Aside from this problem, there are other health conditions that can lead to this as well.

It can be one of the following.
Aging - Hearing declines as we age (it worsens actually) and it usually starts at the age of 60.
This slight hearing loss can lead to this condition but it is usually termed presbycusis.
Loud noise exposure - Loud noises alone can cause to the cells of the inner ear and as a result will alter your ability to hear.
There are a lot of areas or machines that produces loud noise and sometimes, this can lead to significant hearing loss in some people especially those that are exposed on a long-term basis.
Earwax Obstruction - Earwax is the physiological protection of the body to trap dirt that goes inside the ear and will also slow the multiplication of bacteria.
However, when it becomes too much for the canal to handle, it will obstruct the canal and will lead to hearing problems.
Alteration in Ear Bones - The stiffening of the middle ear bone can also cause this condition because it affects your ability to hear.
Any abnormal bone growth can cause this alteration and more often that not, it runs in the family.
Stress and Depression - This is usually the diagnosis if the results of all hearing tests were normal and that there are no other conditions present.
This is especially true with people who have experienced sudden emotional turmoil.
Inner Ear Disorder - A perfect example for this would be Meniere's disease, which is believed to be caused by abnormal pressure in the fluids in the inner ear.
