Leadership courses are the ones in which you are taught to lead an organization in the best way. If you are planning to teach somebody about leadership, one of the most important things is to have the best skills in public speaking. It is the fear that haunts so many people. If you are not able to speak in front of the public, there is no way that you can become a successful leader. Even if you are a teacher and want to start some leadership courses for the teens, one most important thing to do is improve your own public speaking. Your speech should be of a type that inspires others. It is not that difficult to learn these skills. The best way is that teens should learn these skills. It will make them better leaders in the future.

If you are a good speaker, it will build a confidence level in you which is the most important factor for you to have. You should include some skills in your leadership courses. These skills will never let you forget about practicing the speaking skills.

Speaker's checklist: - it is a list that includes everything related to the speaking skills such as gestures, eye contact, vocal variety, use of props, interaction with the audience and the use of the pauses.

Eye contact: - eye contact is very important during the speech. If you will not have eye contact with the audience, they will never feel connected with you and your speech. An eye contact should be of 5 seconds. You should consider looking at everybody instead of one.

Gestures: - you should use body language when you make a presentation. Non verbal communication makes others understand what you want to say to them actually. It is the best way to reach them. You should use our arm in order to point something while explaining. It looks real and people believe in you.

Movement: - you should also move. You can walk in the available space. You can go near the audience.

Vocal variety: - along with the non-verbal communication, you should use variety in your voice. For example you can stress on a word and use different pitches.

Use of pauses: - you should make pauses between the speeches. It will give time to the audience to think about the topic. A pause before saying something catches the attraction of the audience.

All these points will lead you to make you a good leader. Therefore, they must be included in the leadership courses.
