How to Kill Beggar's Lice
- 1). Dig out your Beggar's Lice if you only have a small patch of it. You can use a weeding fork for this. Make sure you get the entire plant, or it will grow back.
- 2). Purchase an herbicide for broadleaf weeds. You will want to get a liquid herbicide, because Beggar's Lice needs to absorb the herbicide through its leaves rather than its root.
- 3). Keep an eye on the forecast. You need two things to be in alignment before you using the herbicide on your Beggar's Lice: The temperature must be between 65 and 80 F, and there must be no rain in sight for at least two days.
- 4). Follow the directions on the herbicide package. If you have a concentrate, you may need to mix it with water first. Some herbicides simply require you to attach a sprayer to the top of the container. If this is the case, the sprayer attachment will be sold along with the product.
- 5). Spray the leaves of your Beggar's Lice. Be generous, but make sure you are not spraying any other plants in your yard. The herbicide could kill them as well.
- 6). Repeat one month later to catch any Beggar's Lice that did not die the first time.
