How to Remove ZD7000 Keyboards
- 1). Shut the Pavilion ZD7000 down and remove the battery pack. Place the computer on a surface with the bottom facing up.
- 2). Unscrew the Phillips-head screws from the two short sides of the large cover on the bottom of the Pavilion ZD7000. The screws remain inside the cover when completely loosened. Lift the cover off of the Pavilion ZD7000 and place it elsewhere.
- 3). Unscrew the eight Phillips-head screws holding the rectangular panel with two circular vents to the bottom of the Pavilion ZD7000. Lift the panel off of the computer and place it elsewhere.
- 4). Unscrew the Phillips-head screw inside the post on the edge of the compartment from which you removed the first bottom panel.
- 5). Unscrew the Phillips-head screw inside the compartment from which you removed the vented panel.
- 6). Turn the Pavilion ZD7000 over and open it.
- 7). Push the six plastic locks lining the top and sides of the keyboard to release the keyboard assembly from the Pavilion ZD7000. You can use a flat-head screwdriver if you are unable to do this with a fingernail.
- 8). Lift the keyboard assembly away from the Pavilion ZD7000 until you can see the cable between it and the motherboard. Push the keyboard connector on the motherboard open with your fingernail to release the cable, and remove the keyboard from the computer.
