    • 1). Mix a 1-quart solution of one part white vinegar and one part water.

    • 2). Dampen a clean sponge with the vinegar solution.

    • 3). Sponge the solution onto old wallpaper. The vinegar helps dissolve the adhesive and make removing the wallpaper easier.

    • 4). Soak the vinegar into the wallpaper for a few minutes.

    • 5). Pull the wallpaper away from the wall, beginning at the top corners.

    • 6). Scrape any remaining paper pieces and adhesive from the wall with a scraper tool.

    • 7). Clean traces of adhesive from the wall by scrubbing with the vinegar-dampened sponge.
