- 1). Mix a 1-quart solution of one part white vinegar and one part water.
- 2). Dampen a clean sponge with the vinegar solution.
- 3). Sponge the solution onto old wallpaper. The vinegar helps dissolve the adhesive and make removing the wallpaper easier.
- 4). Soak the vinegar into the wallpaper for a few minutes.
- 5). Pull the wallpaper away from the wall, beginning at the top corners.
- 6). Scrape any remaining paper pieces and adhesive from the wall with a scraper tool.
- 7). Clean traces of adhesive from the wall by scrubbing with the vinegar-dampened sponge.
