    Cake Spatula Knife

    • The cake knife has a cutting edge on one side and a spreading edge on the other. It is wedge shaped to slip under a triangle of cake and serve. The cake spatula knife is useful for pies as well as for quiche. It is sometimes slightly textured on the flat of the blade to enhance release of the item that is served. The cutting edge is usually serrated.

    Bread Spatula Knife

    • This type of spatula knife is slender and features a serrated blade on one side and a smooth spreading surface on the other side. A bread spatula knife is useful for slicing and serving bread and can double as a butter spreader. It even works for frosting a cake when you frost with the smooth side and leave decorative trails with the serrated side.

    Icing Spatula Knife

    • The icing spatula knife is a necessary tool for the baker's toolkit. It stirs, scrapes, ices and smooths. The spatula has a bend at the handle to accommodate hard-to-reach areas and to allow for a smooth motion uninterrupted around a cake. The bend also gives flexibility to the knife and allows the user to create a perfectly flat top without the dents that a flat spatula gives.

    Cheese Spatula Knife

    • The cheese spatula knife is a small spatula-knife combo that is useful on cheese platters. The wedge-shaped head allows for ease of serving, and the bladed area in the center makes thin, even slices of hard cheeses. The sides of the tool can be used to cut and then spread softer cheeses. The knife is an excellent utilitarian tool that encompasses all the serving needs a variety cheese platter can present.
