Those who really love their families do their utmost to protect them from needless pains and cares.
That's why most people take up most insurance policies in the first place.
However, some people do not see it fit to get it.
Is that unwise? There are clear indications that one out of every two Americans will need some form of long term care within the course of their lives.
If you really think about the strain it can put on your loved ones should you ever need it without the right insurance, you'll understand that you're not really doing your best to spare them avoidable pains.
Think of it: If the odds that you'll need something is 50 percent, would you be wise to avoid it? The statistics on long term care could make you weep.
Consider that over 55 percent of those who receive long term care end up paying out of their own pockets just because they either were ignorant or felt it could never happen to them.
Close to 40 percent will be on Medicaid.
But here's the most painful part: Most of those who pay out of their own pockets will exhaust their life savings and still end up being on Medicaid.
It's painful that a little more care would have saved them such great loss.
Just imagine the agony a parent will feel if all the great plans they had for their children become impossible because they've wasted their life's savings on long term care.
There's a better way -- Get long term care insurance.
Hopefully, you won't need it.
But then you'll sleep with the peace of mind that you and yours won't become part of painful statistics.
