Long Term Care Insurance - The Risk Of Not Getting It Now

103 31
Long term care isn't for everyone.
If you're a millionaire, you really can do well without long term care insurance.
However, if you're not a millionaire and are up to fifty years, then it's imperative that you get a long term care insurance policy.
You'd have to get it much earlier if you have a history of health conditions that require long term care in your family.
For many people, paying about $150 daily for a year will wipe out their life savings and still make them welfare candidates at last.
If you have plans of how you'd spend your last days on your own terms, you could easily be made to live at the mercy of others instead (or however and wherever the government thinks is good for you) if for any reason you require long term care.
If you then want to ensure that you do not get unpleasant surprises as you grow old, then you'd have to get long term care or make sure you're a multi millionaire.
It's also important that you note that long term care is cheaper and easier to get the less likely you'd need it in a few years.
This is why you're advised to get it early (when you're around fifty years given a normal health condition).
Eleven out of every hundred long term care insurance applicants in their fifties are usually NOT accepted.
But if they are in their sixties, 19 out of every 100 would be rejected.
This makes the rejection rate 9% worse for folks in their sixties.
If you thought it was bad for those in their sixties, look at what happens to those in their seventies: 43% are rejected! You can see the figures and you can also decide if you'd definitely belong to those accepted at an advanced age.
You need long term care insurance only because the probability exists that you'll need long term care as you grow older.
Just understand that your total in premiums over the years would be higher if you buy at a later age.
Despite the age you buy your policy, you'll pay a lot less if you take out some time to visit at least three quotes sites for long term care insurance quotes.
Compare diligently the long term care insurance quotes returned and you'll save anywhere between a few hundred dollars to a few thousand.
Just make sure you fill in your details correctly when asking for a quote.
