The Musical Talents On "America"s Got Talent"
The Final 4
"America's Got Talent" is down to the final 4 contestants, and they are Butterscotch, Cas Haley, Julienne Irwin and Terry Fator. The Top 4 were chosen based on viewer's votes and they had to perform immediately after their name was announced. Each contestant performed twice; one act was chosen by the judges and the other by the contestants themselves. Here's a recap of their performances:
Cas Haley - The judges chose "Can't Help Falling In Love" for his first performance, singing it in his reggae style. Again he delivered a strong performance but I think his second act was even better. For the second act he chose "Sir Duke" by Stevie Wonder where he effectively showcased his vocal ability. Cas is certainly one of the audience favorites because he has a likeable quality about him, not to mention his vocal style is awesome.
Butterscotch - For her first performance, Butterscotch, who's real name is Antoinette Clinton, performed "What's Going On". She started off playing a brief intro on the piano and proceeded to sing minus her beatboxing. But that's just fine because for her second performance the focus was on her beatboxing skill as she performed "Dance to the Music" complete with back-up dancers. Butterscotch is definitely a strong contender.
Terry Fator - For his first act Terry brought out his puppet Walter T. Airedale for the country song "Friends in Low Places." His second performance was a shift in genre as he and his puppet, Winston the Turtle, performed "Crying".
Winston was wearing a wig and glasses to imitate the singer Roy Orbison. Both of Terry's performances were amazing and Piers thought so too as he gave Terry a standing ovation.
Julienne Irwin - It's easy to forget that this singer is just 14 years old. The judges chose "What Hurts the Most" for her first number. Then Julienne performed her choice, singing "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" while sitting on a crescent moon. I think her second performance was better, the song really made her voice stand out and she looked so pretty on stage.
Who will be the newest winner of "America's Got Talent" and take home the cash prize of $1 million? Find out as they reveal the results next week.
And the winner is...
I think this season was far more interesting, more exciting than the last one and the Final 4 contestants all gave strong performances. Personally I was rooting for either Cas Haley or Butterscotch but I must admit Terry Fator's last performance was impressive. America seems to agree as they chose Terry as this year's winner of "America's Got Talent". Congratulations Terry! I look forward to seeing your show live. I believe Julienne, Butterscotch and Cas will have successful careers too. Recording contracts perhaps?.
