How to Create an Exhibit Booth

104 1
    • 1). Know the dimensions of your booth and plan exhibit to maximize space. Most trade show and event producers allot a 10'x10' space per vendor. Some exhibitors request side-by-side spaces and design a longer space. Corner spaces are usually offered at a premium because two of four walls are open instead of one.

    • 2). Design your booth in three dimensions, not two. That means do not expect to set your information or items for sale on tables. Creating a booth exhibit is the same as designing a room in which to do business. Plan the booth design from the ground to the ceiling.

Purchase a canopy for outdoor exhibits. Outdoor exhibits require a tent with a peaked roof and waterproof ceiling and wall panels. White is an advisable color choice because it is bright, neutral and will not detract from the rest of the display.

Indoor exhibits need opaque walls so customers are not distracted by other exhibits. Use slatwalls or pop-up displays as the walls for indoor exhibits.

    • 3). Set up free-standing gridwalls along the inside walls of your booth space to display items. Purchase hooks, shelves and any necessary hardware with the gridwall. Create height in the booth by displaying items at eye level.

Set up pop-up displays, slat walls or gridwalls to display information at a trade show. Larger signs, pictures and words work best. Beautiful graphics painted on slatwalls and pictures projected onto screens are interesting and keep people in your booth.

    • 4). Place tables strategically and cover them with floor-length skirts. In order to let people move comfortably in your exhibit booth, place tables along the walls. Store boxes or extra items underneath the tables.

Place a smaller table near the entrance and keep your notebooks, business cards, cash register and supplies at this small table. This is your post during the event.
