Google Adwords is a brilliant marketing tool that is capable of attracting targeted visitors simply by leveraging their own enormous amount of traffic. Plenty of business owners have learned to rely on the targeted traffic they receive from Adwords in order to bring in more sales and more profits. The basis for Adwords' success lies in the speed and quality of results business owners can receive. There are many ways to promote your site but when it comes to creating real results through your efforts, you should consider AdWords. Yet there are some serious mistakes beginners can sometimes make that could cause them to lose money on their campaigns. Below are some of the more frequenty mistakes made that could destroy your campaigns.

One of the most basic mistakes people make with AdWords is they give in to the temptation of creating a long list of keywords that are general and not at all targeted. Adwords is all about targeting your audience and if you're not targeting your audience, you won't get far. Don't be one of those people who sees Adwords as a platform that just requires an investment for the money to start coming in. It's not that easy, however. Broad keywords may reach more people, but they will only cost you money. The strategy you need to follow here is to grab only those keywords that are highly targeted towards your product/service and are in no way broad. If you're advertising about your Piano Lessons website, then you should target keywords like "learn piano easily" not keyword phrases like "piano". That's all there is to using Google Adwords successfully. Having only one ad group is another Adwords blunder you won't want to commit. Google doesn't just let you have more than a single ad group for the heck of it. Your main aim should be to create ads that include keywords that go together in a single ad group. Things will be much easier that way and you'll also get the type of visitors you're looking for. It gives you better control over the whole campaign and create detailed reports about your campaigns so that you are able to modify your ads according to their performance. This is just a fantastic way to divvy up your traffic so that you get a higher rate of conversion.

It's not smart to create one ad and then rely on that for success. You could create the best ad copy anyone's ever seen but you should have more than one ad so that you can switch them once you start receiving traffic. This will allow you to find the ads that work, and then switch them out of the ads that don't convert at all. If you can change your ads accordingly, you'll get better results. You will also be able to test your ads with the market you choose to see how it works.

Adwords isn't difficult unless you make it difficult. The best way to see profitable campaigns is to work your way up with proper testing and tweaking.
