- Clearwater, in the Canadian province of British Columbia, is a rural town located in the North Thompson Valley. The valley is in the central interior of British Columbia and is a haven for hiking, fishing, rafting and heli-skiing. Clearwater attracts many travelers, due to its rural location, the wilderness around it and its dependence on forestry and tourism. Because of its proximity to Wells Gray Provincial Park, which lies within the valley and features five lakes, two rivers and mountain scenery and hiking trails, there are plenty of rustic cabins to stay in.
- Located a few minutes down the road from Clearwater are the Nakiska Ranch Rustic Cabins. Completely enveloped by forest and meadow, the cabins here border Wells Gray Provincial Park, and are hidden from the public. The area is home to many kinds of wildlife. The rustic log cabins feature modern amenities, and most of them are complete with a kitchenette. If the local scenery isn't enough, the ranch is just a few minutes from Helmcken Falls, nearly three times higher than Niagara. In the summer, visitors can go horseback riding.

While all the cabins feature dishes, utensils and towels, the other amenities vary. The Moose Cabin, a two-bedroom log cabin, offers a color TV, a full kitchen with microwave and a large deck with barbecue. The smaller Grizzly Cabin features only a full kitchen and bath but is ideal for couples. The two mid-sized Log Cabins, built in 1940 and sized at 500 square feet, give travelers the most rustic feel of all the cabins available.

Their rustic guest cabin is ideal for two to four guests. It features a kitchenette, a fridge and a fully equipped bathroom. Such close proximity to the park gives visitors isolation from modern life but also the option to go hiking, golfing, canoeing or even whitewater-rafting.
