- 1). Press the "PROG" key and enter the factory code twice. The instruction manual will have the code, usually in front of the manual. This method will remove any old codes programmed into the safe. Ideally, it is good to reset the combination with the safe open, so you don't lock yourself out.
- 2). Press the "PROG" key again. Type your safe's factory five-digit code on the keypad.
- 3). Type a new five-digit code of your choosing. This will be your user code. Although the factory code cannot be erased or changed; your user code can be changed as often as you feel warranted. Only you should know your user code.
- 4). Re-enter your user code to ensure it's working properly.
