How to Troubleshoot a Roomba That Does Not Finish
- 1). Open the particle bin inside Roomba to ensure that it is not full of dirt and debris. Turn off Roomba's power switch. Use your thumb to push down on the particle bin release tab located at the upper front of the device. Pull out on the particle bin with the other fingers of your hand. Empty the bin of dirt. Turn the particle bin upside down and release the filter tab to open the filter door. Discard any debris from inside the filter chamber. Close the filter door and reinsert the particle bin into Roomba.
- 2). Verify that the Roomba battery is still fully charged by looking at the battery life indicator light located on the top of the device near the front. If the light is any color other than green, plug Roomba into the charger and allow the battery to recharge until the light turns green. If the battery is fully discharged, it can take up to 12 hours to recharge.
- 3). Look at the surrounding area to see whether there are objects that Roomba may have become stuck on. When Roomba gets stuck in a corner or around table legs, it beeps for 5 minutes and then shuts off. If you find your Roomba shut off, move it to a different location and turn it back on to see if it resumes cleaning.
- 4). Clear debris out of the vacuum inlet. Turn off the power switch and turn Roomba upside-down. Locate the release tab of the vacuum inlet door at the front of the device. Pull up on the tab to open the door. Shake out any debris and then use your finger to turn the propeller wheel inside the vacuum inlet. If the wheel does not turn freely, locate the carpet fibers or items obstructing it and remove them. Close the inlet door, and turn Roomba back over.
