How to Use Pond Fountains to Help Fill Your Pond

    • 1). Assemble your dual compartment fountain float by connecting the halves with stainless-steel bolts, washers and joiner plates. Attach a crossbar with a mounted PVC female adapter you'll use to thread in the brass nozzle. The other end of your PVC mount must have a 2-inch hose barb. Connect one end of the discharge line to your hose barb and secure it with a stainless-steel clamp.

    • 2). Place the nozzle in the water at the desired location, but do not anchor it yet. The discharge line will float until water is pumping through the line. Turn the pump on and fill the line with water while flushing the line. As the line pressurizes, it will sink and move the float.

    • 3). Turn the pump off and pull the float back to the shoreline. Attach the brass nozzle to the female threaded end of the PVC mount in the center of your float.

    • 4). Cut the 100-foot nylon rope in half. Attach each line to opposite sides of the float, using the joiner plates. Secure the other end of the ropes to cinder blocks.

    • 5). Place the cinder blocks in your boat and tow the float assembly with nozzle attached to its permanent location in the pond. Toss one of the cinder blocks as far as the line will allow. Tow the other cinder block in the opposite direction until the line is taut and drop the other block.

    • 6). Turn on the pump and fill your pond, using your new fountain assembly.
