Everyone is so busy with their schedules.
They want to enjoy quality, healthy, and tasty meals but they can be zapped of their energy at the end of a long work day.
Even stay at home moms will find that after performing their daily errands and duties, boxes of processed foods, or takeout sounds like a marvelous idea.
Another concern for today's families are cost.
Take out is not only fattening, but it gets very expensive very quickly! To add to this, groceries are double the price that they were even two years ago.
Many people have good intentions when they buy food, but because they are tired, the food ends up going bad, or collecting ice crystals in the freezer.

People are finding that the old tried and true methods are helping them to eat well, and save money.
How many of us grew up with memories of our mothers buying economy sized packages of meats, and then separating them when they got home from the store? Maybe we even helped mom separate the food.
In the past, mom probably used butcher paper, wax paper, or foil.
These methods of food preservation worked pretty well, and they are still in use today.
However, those methods of food preservation came with their flaws.
Butcher paper and wax paper had to be taped down.
Foil tended to get brittle in the freezer.
All of these issues caused foods to become exposed, and then become freezer burned.
This defeated the purpose of buying the food when they had to go into the trash.
Ziplock bags came into play in the last 25 years.
These bags helped, especially the freezer bags, because they had zipper seals.
However, they still didn't do the trick quite well enough to help preserve food.
So to combat this, vacuum technology was employed with the invention of home vacuum sealers.
This technology had been available to institutions for quite a while, but with much smaller scale versions for the home kitchen, cooks and shoppers were able to take advantage of the technology.
How it works, is that the cook places meats, or whatever they want to preserve in a plastic pouch.
The ends of the pouch are attached to vacuum sealers.
Vacuum sealers will suck out about 98 percent of the air volume in the package.
The purpose of sucking out the air, is that with no air, the food is totally protected from the elements.
This saves a home cook time in food preparation, because home vacuum sealers can not only preserve meats, they can make pre-assembled dishes that are portioned, and ready to go.
All they have to do is thaw out the vacuum sealed meal, and then cook it.
The meal will be as fresh as the day it was sealed.
With vacuum sealers, this saves a tremendous amount of time, money, and energy for the cook.
