5 Great Fictional MOvie Remakes of the 21st Century

105 1
Fiction movies are one of the great ways in which we can express our imaginations. It is a way of expressing how we feel life may be in future, how it may be on other planets, or even how it may be on our own planet in front of our very eyes. Through fiction we can also live out the fantasies that we dream about but which we know will never occur.

Great fiction films have been produced for decades, and bringing great ideas from the past together with modern technology has proved a great success for today's film maker. Below are some of the great re-makes of the 21st century:

1 Spider-man
Originally a comic book series which first appeared in the 1960's, Spider-man featured a (somewhat outcast) teenage boy, Peter Parker, who lived with his aunty and uncle. Parker would transform into the crime fighting spider-man wearing the iconic spider man costume. Having appeared in several films prior to the 21st century, it was Spider-man, created in 2002 and staring Toby Maguire, which was really able to capture the superhero's full capacity a a high flyer amongst the city buildings.

2 Batman
Similar to Spider-man, Batman also juggled a normal life as civilian Bruce Wayne whilst fighting crime in the fictional city of Gotham. A successful TV series running during the 70s was often undermined by its cheap looking graphics and somewhat questionable acting. The 2001 remake of this classic provides a much more dramatic look at the antics of this superhero, whilst improved technology allowed for fantastic action scenes.

3 Superman
Perhaps the most famous comic book character of all time, Superman films have been remade for decades. As technology continues to evolve, it seems film makers cannot resist the opportunity to revive this iconic super human from another planet using the latest graphical equipment. The 2006 release directed by Bryan Singer is a highly acclaimed reinvention of this childhood great.

4 King Kong
King Kong was first released as a film in the early 1930's. Although at the time it was groundbreaking due the nature of the film and the graphics used, the movie now seems distinctly amateur in comparison to the 2005 remake starring Jack Black. The strotyline is of an American Explorer who brings back from his travels a gigantic gorilla-like animal which inevitably escapes and causes havoc.

5 The incredible Hulk
Like many iconic characters, the Incredible Hulk began life in a comic book in the 1960's. It was then adapted into a cult TV series in the seventies. The storyline centres on Dr Bruce Banner, who is a guinea pig in a trial to try and make humans immune to gamma radiation. When the experiment goes wrong, any time Banner gets angry he turns into the Incredible Hulk, a green muscular figure with incredible strength.
