Elvis Proved It - Men Love Shoes Too!
While some flaunt it, most don't even realize their love of footwear clearly exists.
Let's consider a few reasons why: Men grow up idolizing their fathers and their image.
When Dad got ready for work, whether he was tying up a pair of intimidating Red Wing Steel Toed Boots or slick and polished Black Oxford Dress Shoes, little boys were watching him with tiny hawk eyes secretly mapping out how they could be just like Daddy.
In elementary school, when a little boy "liked" a girl, he would show his affection by running up to her, pulling her hair and then kicking her.
In truth, he wasn't so much kicking as showing off his new Converse Chuck Taylor All Stars! After Dad stopped being the cool cat, and pulling pigtails didn't get the same attention, in came the athletic idols.
Hmm, how best to be like Mike? Air Jordans of course.
Yes, men and boys everywhere sincerely believe that: "If I had those exact pair of soccer spikes Beckham wears, I'd play like him, look like him, and, heck, why not? I'd be dating Posh Spice" If all of this isn't enough evidence that men love shoes, look at some of the male characters we've watched in TV and movies over the years.
Mister Rogers: The man spent half the show changing his shoes...
and it was oddly captivating.
If a rather easygoing and traditional gentleman like Mister Rogers had more than one pair of shoes then imagine what the inside of the modern male's closet looks like.
Al Bundy sold shoes for a living, Prince Charming had an unnatural fixation on Cinderella's glass slipper, and Mr.
Big thought a shoe a great substitute for an engagement ring.
Let's not even talk about the correlation made between a man's shoe size and...
uh-huh.
Bottom line: shoes are important to men.
Although men do love shoes, they aren't always keen on skipping giddily through every shoe store like their girlfriends and wives are.
It's often more comfortable to peruse a website at their leisure without their pals heckling them or having a female opinion blasting in their ears.
What men need is a place where they can shop for shoes comfortably, privately, and affordably.
And hey, if they want to peek at a great pair of pumps for their precious pookie at the same time, well that's OK too.
If men want to avoid the hassles of the mall they can shop at online shoes stores.
Shopping online gives guys an excuse to take advantage of some of those traditional male stereotypes: avoid the mall while sitting in a ratty recliner in their underwear (boxers or briefs?), drinking a beer, watching a hockey game...
oh yeah...
and they can go shopping for shoes at the same time.
The best of all worlds! So remember, Elvis was right - men love shoes too!
