How to Block Websites on a Router

    • 1). Open a web browser.

    • 2). Type in the IP address of your router in the address bar and press "Enter." This information varies by manufacturer; you may need to obtain it from your router manual or the manufacturer's website.

    • 3). Log in to your router. If you've never done this before, refer to the manual to obtain the default username and password.

    • 4). Look for a menu item called "Access Restrictions" or something similar.

    • 5). Add the IPs and addresses of the websites you wish to block.

    • 6). Save your new settings by clicking the "Save" button, typically at the bottom of the page.

    • 7). Restart your router, if it does not reboot automatically, by unplugging the power cord for 10 seconds and then plugging it back in.
