Tutorial for Beaded Spiders

    • 1). Thread a black 12mm bead on a 3-inch 20-gauge head pin.

    • 2). Cut four 6-inch-long pieces of 20-gauge craft wire with a pair of wire snips. Gather all the wires together with their ends even. Wrap the wires once around the head pin directly on top of the 12mm bead so that half their length is on one side of the pin and the other half is on the other side.

    • 3). Thread the 8mm black bead on the head pin. Trim the remaining length of the pin down to 1/2 inch. Curl the end of the head pin around the nose of your pliers to create a small loop. The loop not only holds the beads and wires on the pin, but also allows you to attach the spider to a necklace or earrings.

    • 4). Spread out the four wire ends on each side of the spider like the spokes of a wheel. Thread seed beads on each wire end until only a 1/2-inch of wire remains. Curl the end of the wire around your needle nose pliers like you did the head pin to create a loop to hold the beads on and complete your spider.
