How to Make a Boy's Hair Soft & Silky
- 1). Handle wet hair gently. Wet hair is fragile and susceptible to damage. Pat hair with a dry towel to remove excess water, but do not use a brush or hair dryer.
- 2). Wash hair only every second or third day so that hair follicles can produce sebum, the natural oil that moisturizes the hair and scalp. This is especially important with hair that is naturally dry.
- 3). Add moisture back into the hair after exposing it to sun, chlorine or cold weather. Apply a cream rinse made for dry, damaged hair and allow it to sit in the hair for three to five minutes before rinsing it from hair.
- 4). Cut hair regularly. Split and damaged hair will affect its texture, making it feel rough or dry. Get regular trims, every six to eight weeks.
- 5). Eat the right foods to keep hair soft, silky and overall healthy. According to Dr. Garima Sancheti Acharya, "As hair are mostly protein, it is advised to incorporate a high protein food in your diet such as eggs, cheese, cereals, seeds, fish, nuts, beans, milk and yogurt." For soft and silky hair, Acharya recommends, "Drink at least two liters of water everyday to keep your hair soft and supple."
