How to Wash Gutters
- 1). Put on a pair of rubber gloves. You never know what you are going to find in the gutters as you clean them out, and you don't want to accidentally cut your fingers.
- 2). Remove all of the leaves and fallen debris from the gutters. You will need to get up on a ladder and look into the gutters. You can use a garden shovel to help you scoop up the debris. Work your way around the house so that you don't miss any spots.
- 3). Turn your garden hose on and begin flushing out the gutter. Start at the top, work your way around the house and then down. This will get out any smaller pieces of dirt or debris that you were not able to get with your shovel.
- 4). Mix one gallon of bleach with two gallons of water. Use this solution to pour in the gutters. Then scrub the solution into the gutters with a scrub brush. This will kill any bacteria that have grown in the gutters and will clean it. Again, you will want to work your way around the house so that you don't miss any spots.
- 5). Rinse out the bleach with your garden hose, and your gutters will be all clean.
