Nevada's Energy Star Homes
- According to the Energy Star website, as of 2010 Nevada has 85,396 Energy Star homes; 2,360 of these were built in 2010 and 2,174 in 2009.
- An Energy Star home is about 20 to 30 percent more energy efficient than a standard home. Some features that make a home Energy Star certified are: effective insulation systems, high-performance windows, efficient heating and cooling systems and Energy Star certified lighting and appliances.
- The Nevada Energy Star Partners (NESP) is an alliance of residential builders and business partners with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). NESP builds and promotes Energy Star homes and spreads awareness and education about the need and benefit of "going green."
