How to Write With a Bamboo Tablet

104 38
    • 1). Plug the USB cable for the Bamboo tablet into the a USB port on your computer. Open a word processing program on Vista or Office 2007.

    • 2). Grasp the pen as you would a normal pen. Hold the pen over the writing surface on the tablet. Observe as the cursor tracks your movement of the pen.

    • 3). Position the pen against the writing surface on the tablet at the point that you would like to begin writing on the screen. Experiment with the amount of pressure you are placing on the tip. The tip is pressure sensitive so the amount of pressure will regulate the thickness and darkness of the line. Write in varying pressures to become familiar with the pen's sensitivity.

    • 4). Turn the pen over and touch the eraser to the tablet writing surface. Practice erasing some of what you have written. The eraser is not pressure sensitive, so there is no need to bear down as you would with a pencil while erasing. Develop a feel for the strokes required to erase with the pen.

    • 5). Practice using the upper and lower buttons on the pen. The upper button functions as a right click on the mouse. The lower button allows you to pan or scroll your view of the screen. These defaults can be changed by going into the pen tab on the menu bar. There will be a drop-down menu for both the upper and lower button selections. You can also make other adjustments to the pen from this menu such as level of pressure sensitivity. Use the pen for a while before changing these settings.
