Travel Tips for Staying at the City Inn Glasgow
Just across the river by either the Glasgow Arc or further down river by the Bell's Bridge you can cross the river gives you access to the BBC and STV television studios.
Also just across the river is the Glasgow IMAX film theatre, the Glasgow Mall and the Glasgow tower, known collectively as the Glasgow Science Centre.
In the event that the weather is not very good this would be an excellent place to visit especially for families however there is enough for adults to enjoy as well.
The hotel itself has 164 rooms with air-conditioning and high level sound proofing, which is just as well as in September 2006 the Glasgow Arc, Glasgow's first road bridge in over thirty years opened next to the City Inn.
The hotels rooms have televisions, CD and DVD player, complimentary broadband internet service, hairdryers, walk-in power shower, trouser press telephone and more.
Whilst the hotel is ideal if you are going to a concert, trade fair or exhibition in the SECC or Armadillo it is a bit far out from the shopping that Glasgow is famous for.
The views and especially of some of the sunsets on the river Clyde can be a good enough reason alone to stay in this hotel.
The shops can easily be reached by taxi in less than ten minutes, or by a fifteen to twenty five minute walk.
By crossing the Clyde Arc next to the hotel you can walk to Springfield Quay, which has an Odeon cinema, restaurants, bars and a Bingo hall.
Just across from the entrance to Springfield Quay is the Harry Ramsdens fish restaurant.
The hotel has currently got plans to extend the hotel by building extra floors on the top of the hotel to increase its capacity so when making your reservation make sure that building work has not started or is about to during your stay.
