"How to Create a Website with a Personal Biography of the Individual"
- 1). Try to purchase a domain name that lists your full name including middle initial. Over time, search engines may display this website high on search results when someone types in your full name. Choose a hosting service that allows you to use templates to create your website---it's much quicker for this type of website.
- 2). Create a simple four page website containing your personal information---home page, biography page, resume, and links to your work.
- 3). Post your picture on the left hand side of the home page. Introduce your personal information website with a 300-400 word summary about yourself---don't go into details here, reserve that for your other pages. For instance, you could simply discuss your current profession, where you live, general background information, and what you're trying to accomplish in life. Then elaborate on each of these items in your bio and resume pages.
- 4). Create a web page with a thorough personal biography on yourself in the third person voice. A complete biography includes background information such as where you grew up, your family, an inspirational story, current activities or organizations you're involved with, positions, hobbies, strengths and future plans. Add another flattering photo of yourself on that biography page.
- 5). Copy and paste the text of your resume into a separate page of your website or post a PDF link to the resume.
- 6). Create a link page that contains a comprehensive library of links to your work. For example, if you are an artist, provide links to digital images of your work and websites where your art is featured. If you are an author, link to excerpts from your books, reviews and features by magazines and newspaper on your work.
