How to Remove Old Tape Adhesive From Glass
- 1). Moisten a rag with a generous amount of vegetable oil. Apply the vegetable oil to the tape residue with the rag.
- 2). Work the oil into the residue using your fingers. Saturate the spot completely. Allow the oil to remain on the glass for about three hours.
- 3). Place a few drops of dish soap into a bowl. Fill the bowl with hot water.
- 4). Dip a sponge or rag into the bowl of soapy water. Scrub the residue from the glass using the sponge or rag and soapy water. Use caution when scrubbing so not to damage the glass.
- 5). Wipe down the area with a damp rag to remove any remaining residue. Dry the glass with a dry rag.
- 6). Use rubbing alcohol or acetone nail polish remover if the adhesive remains on the glass. Saturate a rag with the solvent and apply it to the glass.
- 7). Scrub the glass gently with a sponge or cloth until the adhesive is gone. Apply more of the solvent, if necessary.
- 8). Clean the affected area of the glass with a rag and soapy water. Dry the glass with a clean rag.
