I have written about the Moors and the reconquest of Spain by the Christians, enlightened people on the history of the Romans and who moved salt from here to there so on their Torrevieja Holidays people would be just a little more wiser of the area.
The story I am about to tell is not about holidays or even how Torrevieja got its name, anything about towers and castles, museums or even the mountainous sierras or the Natural parks as this will be written on another day.
No, instead of tales about my Torrevieja Holidays I'm writing about a man, his dream and a little of his life.
Indeed, I have never met nor heard of him before today but had heard his name never realising it was actually this man.
I'm talking about Justo Quesada Samper.
He had died before I ever came to Spain on my Torrevieja Holidays but from the very beginning his life had been a simple one with one big dream.
Born in Orihuela 1926, he actually lived most of his life between the townships of Rojales, Elche and San Miguel de Salinas.
He eventually met his wife Josephine Aniorte and by this time he had created his family business from an early age, Justo Quesada S L.
Justo Quesada had one over whelming dream, he wanted to build his own holiday resort where people from all walks of life from many different countries could live in harmony, prosper and enjoy life to the full.
He began his life's work in 1972 when he purchased thousands of acres of land south of Rojales, where over the years he built his town through times of great difficulties.
As his five children grew they would become part of his dream.
On all my Torrevieja Holidays where I have come to play golf I never took notice to the name Quesada, I just imagined it meant something special as my understanding of the Spanish language then was quite different than from today.
I didn't know it was the name of one of the biggest developing companies on the Costa Blanca a name synonymous with Torrevieja Holidays and mostly my reason for being here.
Now thousands of people live in an area that once was an almost desert region with plain hills.
No history here, no Moors conquest or museums extolling the benefits of salt, just a town and one man his dream.
Instead of those inconsequential hills now stands Ciudad Quesada and the Quesada Golf Club now called La Marquesa.
Many golfers on their Torrevieja Holidays enjoy a round or two or maybe if you prefer an alternative there is a water park as well as a landing strip for light aircraft.
With so much development going on, who knows what will come about next, but in 1999 Quesada had its own town hall and Mayor, all of this from one man's dream.
If you do go out there on your next Torrevieja Holidays make sure you're in Ciudad Quesada on the day of San Justo in August when the town celebrates its Patron Saint with a fiesta.
