How to Remove Ants From a House
- 1). Drill a small hole into one end of a film canister or pill bottle.
- 2). Dissolve 1 tsp. of boric acid and 6 tbsp. of sugar into 2 cups of lukewarm water. Stir the mixture until all ingredients dissolve.
- 3). Saturate a cotton ball with the solution.
- 4). Place the cotton ball inside the container with the hole in it. Put the container near the place where ants enter your home. The mixture attracts ants and kills them.
- 5). Replace the cotton ball every few days so it will continue to kill any ants that remain.
- 1). Clean up the food source attracting the ants. They will congregate around the area. They leave a scent trail that other ants will follow, so be sure to use soapy water to clean up the area to remove scent tracks. You can usually see a path of ants on their way to the food source.
- 2). Seal any holes, crack or gaps in the wall where ants enter your home with flexible caulk.
- 3). Locate the ant nest outside, near the place they are entering your home. Pour boiling hot water onto their nests. Make sure it is boiling, because they can survive other temperatures of water without drowning. The boiling water will kill the entire colony.
