Fly, Birdie, Fly--Embrace The Moment Of Free Amy Dean 2013 Fly, birdie, fly Across the barren, colored sky Let all worry, doubt and fear Erase from time, you are safe up here In that bitter place, from where you had tread Down in the dark, alone and afraid Shivering nights when all seemed lost It took all your strength, to keep you moving on One day you made a choice to grieve For all the days, you could hardly breathe And step by step, you turned around Got on your feet, not staying down You looked throughout the big wide world, To see if you could find Something better, than all the pain To wash out sins, with soothing rain The sun came out and warmed your face It felt so good inside You wiped your tears; stretched out your wings And took a leap of faith Do not think of your past regrets It will only leave you with shame instead Walk the path of many dreams; Follow your heart, wherever it leads Ride the current of gentle winds Find yourself in who you are again Rehearse the song of care-free wonder Embrace the moment of flying higher Sing the tune within your soul Letting all the bad things go Just fly, birdie, fly Spread your wings through the open sky This is your future of a brand new hope; Close your eyes and feel you soar Now is the time for you to see; You are free, little one, you are free! How often do we find ourselves in the place of darkness, sadness, depression and loneliness? How many times do we feel like we are being punished for something we didn't do but are made to feel like we deserved it? Time and time again, we become a prisoner in our own world.
We find ourselves in places of coldness and despair.
Brash words of cruelty often leave us vulnerable to pain.
Every thought that envelopes our minds teach us that we deserve to suffer.
Our expectations of life become so distorted and hazy, that we end up feeling as though that should be the normal way of living.
Being a prisoner in our own mind, is a hard place to come out of, especially, if we have been there for so long, it has become our reality.
Everything we thought we knew about life has become distorted and broken.
It has made us feel weak and barren with nothing to hope for.
Trust has been severed and we will never look at anyone the same.
Like this little birdie, who was in a prison for so long, we do not know how to function.
We just dream of one day, perhaps, of flying free, without worry, anger, strife, or even hate.
We would love with a fresh trust and an open possibility of a fresh start, and everything in life would have the assurance that we will be OK.
How Awesome it would be!
