    Firearms First and Second Season

    • Hunters holding a 2010 firearm deer permit in the state of Illinois are allowed to hunt November 19, 20 and 21 for first season and December 2, 3, 4 and 5 for second season. Firearms permit dates include your choice of permitted firearms or muzzleloaders.

    Muzzleloader Only and Second Season

    • If muzzleloading is your weapon of choice, you can harvest deer during the 2010 second season firearms open dates of December 2, 3, 4 and 5 or in muzzleloading only season which takes place December 10-12, 2010.

    Archery Season

    • Archery season in 2010 is open October 1, 2010 through January 16, 2011 for property permitted archers in Cook, DuPage, Lake and part of Kane counties. The dates are the same for all other counties, with the exception of closures in those counties during both open firearms seasons. Blaze orange requirements are in effect for archers during youth, muzzleloader, late and chronic wasting disease (CWD) seasons.

    Youth Firearms Season

    • Youth are limited to one permit per year that can be used during the 2010 youth deer season. Open youth dates are October 9 and 10. Youth permits are available from August 3, 2010 through the last day of youth season of the same year.

    Late-Winter and CWD Season

    • The 2010 late season for taking antlerless deer by means of firearms or a muzzleloader are December 30 through January 2 and January 10 and 11, 2011. The hunting dates in the CWD counties of Boone, DeKalb, part of Kane, McHenry and Winnebago are the same as late-season dates in the state.
