How Can I Get My Computer to Remember a Wireless Key?
- 1). Click on "Start." Type "network" in the "Start Search" text field. Select "Network and Sharing Center" and press the "Enter" key.
- 2). Click on "Manage wireless networks."
- 3). Click on "Add." Select "Add a network that is in range of this computer" if you are in range of the wireless network you wish to save. Click on "Manually connect to a wireless network" otherwise.
- 4). Type the "Network name" if needed. Choose the security type used for the wireless key. Choose the "Encryption" type if needed.
- 5). Click the box next to "Display characters." Type the wireless security key.
- 6). Click the box next to "Start this connection automatically" to uncheck it if you do not wish to automatically connect to the network.
- 7). Click on "Next." Click on "Connect to" the network to log on or click on "Close" to complete setting up the network.

- 6). Type the "Network name (SSID)." Click on "Manually assign a network key." Click on "Use WPA encryption" if your network uses WPA instead of WEP security, which is recommended. Click on "Next."
- 7). Click on "Hide characters as I type" so you may view the security key as you type it. Type the "Network key" twice. Click on "Next."
- 8). Click on "Set up a network manually." Click on "Next." Click on "Finish."
