Instructions for a Crosley Turntable
- 1). Turn the power on. On most Crosley machines, press the "Power" button on the instrument panel. On others, turn the volume knob until the machine clicks on.
- 2). Select the phonograph function. This is done by either pushing the "Function" button until the word "Phono" comes up on the LCD screen, or moving a function knob until it points towards "Phono".
- 3). Place the record on the platter. The turntable platter is located on top the machine, first lift up the cover, then place the record down so that the metal spindle goes through the hole in the center of the record.
- 4). Set the turntable speed. Near the platter is a switch that can be set to 33, 45, or 78. Most standard large records should be set at 33, most small ones should be set at 45. Only certain very old records need to be set to 78. If the record is playing too fast or too slow when you set down the needle, change the speed.
- 5). Lift up the needle arm and move it over the turntable platter until the record starts spinning. Drop the needle gently down onto the very edge of the record, where there are no grooves. Pull the needle arm off of the record when it the side is over. Flip the record and repeat this step to hear the other side.
