Cozumel a Romantic Secret

103 18
When most people think of Cozumel, Mexico a few things come to mind: world class scuba diving and snorkeling, partying at Carlos and Charlie's or Senior Frogs, or incredible excursions.
Not many though would point out that Cozumel is great for some romantic encounters & adventures that either honeymooners or seniors celebrating anniversaries can get up to.
One of the most romantic things to do on the island is one of the most simple.
Get a car and get out of town! The island of Cozumel is about thirty miles long and ten miles wide.
The town of San Miguel is really the only town on the island and it's just a small part of it.
Rent a car or jeep and hit the open road.
Watch out for iguanas and don't worry about getting lost.
It is an island, and the road around it is a circle! As you leave town you'll find a lot of great beach resorts including Chankanaab, Playa Azul and San Francisco beach.
These are great catching sun and having something to eat, but if you and that special someone want to get away from it all.
Keep on driving.
When you reach the opposite side of the island it is very remote.
There are a few watering holes along the way but that's about it.
Cheap drinks and beautiful beaches will be found and the best part is you'll be far, far away from the crowds of the other beach goers who are looking to party.
All though the beaches on this side of the island are remote and beautiful they are not really the best for swimming due to strong currents and jagged rocks that can be in the area.
So if you do go into the water just be careful and watch for the flags posted on the beach.
If the red flags are posted it's not a good idea to go into the water.
With that being said, even if you don't go into the water, the views and the memories are well worth the drive.
After your drive to the other side of the island, you'll probably have worked up an appetite and in Cozumel you'll find some quiet enchanting eateries that you and your loved one will enjoy, complete with a sensational sunset if you time your evening meal right.
There is all sort of variety of cuisine, from sizzling steakhouses, fresh catch of the day seafood to pizza and pasta.
So find a place with a view.
Get there before sunset order a sangria and let the good times roll.
