Hi I'm Jimmy Chang and we're here to talk about how to create an algebra graph. Now in algebra often times we're either working with a number line which is one dimensional or you may be working with an XY coordinate system. So, let's talk about each of those and we'll go from there. So, with a number line you often times, it's a horizontal number line and more often than not you're going to have 0 in the middle of the number line and then you want to work with the numbers after and before 0 so if you're working with positive numbers you'll want to label the number line generally by single ticks, one, two, three, etc. and then if you're working with negative numbers you'll have -1, -2, -3 and then proceed from there. Now again that's if you're working with you know, an X or a Y but just by themselves. Now if you have two axes you will have a XY coordinate system where the X axis is your horizontal axis and your vertical axis is your Y. So often times if you have to work with lines or with other graphs like parabolas, things like that, then you'll definitely be working off the XY coordinate system. So, that's what you'll be using off of more often than not the XY coordinate system or the number line. So I'm Jimmy Chang and that's how to create an algebra graph.
