You have a business. you need to get more business but have tried all of the normal marketing techniques, mailers, flyers, newspaper ads and maybe even radio or TV but you just aren't getting the business you want and you're running out of money!

Ever think of Affiliate Marketing? What,you say? What is Affiliate Marketing and why should I try it?

Affiliate Marketing is basically letting other people send you customers and paying them a small commission if the customer buys something. Why should you try it? Here are several reasons it might work out for you:

1) Low Advertising Cost

Affiliate marketers don't get paid unless the person they send buys something. When you send 1000 flyers to the neighborhood, you pay for the printing and postage whether anyone comes in to buy or not. With an affiliate marketer you only pay when you make a sale from their source. In other words, each sale pays for it's own marketing! What other types of advertising does that?

2) Low Employee Costs

Same as above basically. You don't pay an affiliate marketer unless he/she sends you a paying customer. You can look at it this way: you could have potentially hundreds of "Employees" without any payroll costs for those who don't produce! Again, what other business that doesn't use these kinds of advocates can say that?

3) Worldwide Expansion

Now I know, many of you with internet businesses are saying "I have a web business. That makes it worldwide". Really? They might stumble over your website if they are looking for a specific product or service but are more likly to be looking locally. Your not likely to put out a newspaper ad in Belgium for your products. An affiliate in their area draws them into your site specifically because they have an incentive to do so and, again, you don't spend anything for advertising unless there is a sale.

4) No Store Hours

With affiliate marketers, your business is open every second of the day while targeting a worldwide market! What could be better than that?

5) Most Affiliates Have Affiliates

Most serious Affiliate Marketers build a list of their own Affiliates to piggy back on their mailing lists. You can exponentially grow your "outside salespeople" throughout the world almost continuously. Imagine what it would do for your business to have an ever-growing sales force out there actively looking for people to send to you!

But this won't work if you don't have the right mindset or other important tools to make it attractive to affiliate marketers You need to keep track of your own website and make sure it is easy to navigate and easy to find online. So better work on this first before considering bringing on Affiliates.
