RV travel is immensely popular in America...

And if you lose your vacation stash, you are doomed to have a miserable time.
Instead, buy traveler's checks and travel with them.
You can easily convert a traveler's check when you need regular currency.
And if you happen to lose a traveler's check or it is stolen, you suffer no loss.

Finally, if you're traveling with kids, don't include "adult stopovers" in your itinerary.
Plan to visit places and attend events that kids enjoy.
