Jonás Riera Sanz Creates Unique Forms in Altered States of Reality
Born in Valencia, Spain, and with a background in computer engineering and photography, Jonás Riera Sanz creates a unique art form he calls Fractarte. Drawing on the wonder of biological fractals found in nature, Jonás' art portrays liquid energy that shoots across the page or canvas, resulting in sophisticated displays of symmetry and spirals, "shapes inside shapes to infinity."
Inspired by modern and urban art, particularly Minimalism, Jonás' hallmark is his pure, definite lines that give birth to distinctive shapes. These unique shapes emerge where you might least expect it, giving order to chaos - sometimes from sharp, unrelenting straight lines and other times from lines that curve and snake throughout the image. Vibrant colors catch the viewer's eye as they dance across the page, at times merging and synchronizing to form a stunning vortex of color and light. In the end, Jonás pays tribute to the majesty of natural form, giving us all a glimpse of the "purity and beauty inside the lines, which grow in a perfect chaotic order."
