How Do I Troubleshoot a Wolf Cooktop?
- 1). Reposition the burner cap if your burner flame is uneven.
- 2). Check your pan if food is cooking unevenly. See if the bottom of your pan is bent or uneven. Make sure the pan is centered on the burner and that it is not tipped in one direction. Make sure your countertop is level.
- 3). Let the ceramic igniter dry out if it has gotten wet and the burner won't ignite. If the igniter isn't wet, clear out the little holes in the burner by chipping out any blockage with a straightened paper clip.
- 4). If two burners turn off by themselves when you are cooking with multiple large pans, move one of the pans to allow for the needed air flow to the gas jets.
- 5). Turn down the heat if a pan boils over, or transfer to the contents of the pan to a larger pan.
- 6). Cover a pan that contains water that won't boil. Make sure the pan isn't too wide to facilitate boiling, and that it isn't warped.
- 7). Reduce the amount of food in a pan if it seems to take too long to sauté. Transfer contents to a second pan if need be. Make sure your pans aren't warped.
- 8). Turn down the heat while simmering if food starts to get scorched.
- 1). Hold the key symbol down for three seconds to unlock the cooktop if it won't operate. Press "Clear" on the touch pad if an error message appears. If "Shr" (short for "Showroom") appears on the display, hold down the key symbol for five seconds, then hold down "Melt" on the touch pad for five seconds.
- 2). Make sure the cooktop is plugged in and that the electrical circuit is working.
- 3). According to the Wolf electric cooktop manuals, you should call an electrician to tighten electrical connections if the electrical heating elements don't heat properly. Ask the electrician to confirm that the cooktop is receiving the right voltage.
- 4). Change your cookware if the stove is working but the food is not cooking or heating properly.
- 5). Let the cooktop cool down if it shuts itself off while operating at full power. According to the Wolf electric cooktop manuals, the temperature limiters have shut it down for safety because the temperature was too high. It will turn back on again when the temperature cools to a safe level.
