How to Remove Spider Mites From Diatomaceous Earth

    • 1). Mix 2 tbsp. of liquid dish soap with 1 qt. of water in a spray bottle.

    • 2). Gently spray the infected area in a broad sweeping motion. Do not saturate the area with the insecticidal soap, or you may kill the vegetation. Repeat every couple days.

    • 3). Spray the area with a forceful jet of water, if outside.

    • 4). Spray the area with horticultural oils -- 1 to 2 percent during summer months, 3 to 4 percent during fall and spring. Thoroughly cover the infected area.

    • 5). Coat the area with diatomaceous earth. Sprinkle DE dust over the infected area. Be sure to wear a dust mask during application.
