How to Remove the Back Cover of a Samsung Galaxy S Vibrant

I actually happen to own a Vibrant so I’ve done this a gagillion, nay, a fafillion times. In short, yes, I know what I’m doing even though I didn’t sleep at a Holiday Inn last night. (For folks looking for instructions on how to remove the back cover of a Samsung Galaxy S Captivate from AT&T, check out my Galaxy S Captivate back cover tutorial instead.)

The Vibrant actually has one of the easier back covers to remove on a phone.

First, emulate a bungee jumper by turning the phone down side up.

See that skinny slot in the middle? Insert one of your well manicured nails in there — I’m talking about your fingers and not your toes, of course — and pull outward to pry it open.

Voila! Your Vibrant is now as naked as that streaker who violated my pure, innocent eyes at the Karft Fight Hunger Bowl. Guess it’s easier to fight hunger after you just lost your appetite...

But I digress. If you’re like me, your main reason to removing the Vibrant’s back cover is to likely access your Micro SD memory card. Just use your nails on the raised bump of the card and pull it out.

How to Remove the Battery of a T-Mobile Galaxy S Vibrant

I actually bring two spare batteries with me in trips so the ability to swap batteries on a Vibrant is important for me. You’ll also need to take the battery out to access the SIM card.

To remove the Vibrant’s battery once you’ve got the back cover taken out, you simply need to use your nails to pull out from that slot toward the bottom of the device as shown in the photo above.

Once the battery is out, all you need to do is slide the SIM card out and you’re as done as Leif Garrett’s singing career.

To put the back cover back, simple align the slots into place and push down till you hear clicks. However you like to do it is fine but I usually start from the top and work my way down in snapping the edges back into place.

Congratulations. You are now a pro at removing and putting back your Galaxy S Vibrant’s cover.
