How to Boot Defrag Software
- 1). Open the "Start" menu and select "My Computer."
- 2). Right-click on the drive you want to defragment and choose the "Properties" option.
- 3). Select the "Tools" tab and click the "Defrag Now" option to open a new window.
- 4). Click the "Defragment" button to initialize the defrag software and start the process.
- 1). Windows XP: Open the "Start" menu and click on "Run." Type "Compmgmt.msc" (without quotes) and press "Enter."
Windows Vista/7: Open the "Start" menu and type "Compmgmt.msc" (without quotes) into the search bar and hit "Enter."
This will boot the computer management program. - 2). Click on the "Disk Defragmenter" option and highlight the drive you want to defrag.
- 3). Click "Defragement" to begin the defrag process, and wait for it to complete.
- 1). XP: Open the "Start" menu and click on "Run." Type "dfrg.msc" (without quotes) and press "Enter."
Vista/7: Open the "Start" menu and type "dfrg.msc" (without quotes) into the search bar and hit "Enter." - 2). Highlight the drive you want to defrag.
