A good example of that is the not-so- ommon ediety knot.
The ediety knot is also known as Atlantic tie knot.
Some even calls it the Merovingian knot, as seen from the second and third movie of "The Matrix Trilogy".
One of the characters, Merovingian, wore one but it certainly did not originate from that movie.
Nevertheless, you cannot undermine the classy look of this knot.
This is not a new innovation of doing your tie but many are not familiar with the ediety knot.
Some may have never even heard of it, or even got to see one, because of the fact that it's not commonly worn.
Why would anyone want to do that anyway? The ediety knot is as simple and clean as other tie knots but is no doubt underrated compare to the more popular Windsor, half-windsor, and four-in hand.
You won't see many guys wearing one, which all the more make it special.
Why is that so? Is it because of the scarcity of material or instruction on how to tie one? Perhaps yes.
Do your research and you won't find many resources.
But even if it's put into writing - the "how to", there's no guarantee that the reader will get it right.
It's definitely not as easy as following a cookbook recipe.
Because doing the ediety knot is not simple and easy at all.
It goes through many weaves and turns, much more than doing the other tie knots.
I guess it's very hard to do so by just reading and following instructions.
Likewise it's easy to get lost through the steps if you're not very familiar through each one.
In a jiffy, some may observe that the knot looks like a twisted French knot.
I'll say the best way to do one is to have someone personally teach you how - preferably by demonstrating it.
It's easier to get it that way.
Again, there's a scarcity of information regarding this type of knot.
However, you'll find a good video online that clearly demonstrate how to tie one.
Also, you may need to practice it many times to get it perfect.
The video is an excellent resource, which you can play over and over again until you get each step right.
Then do it again on your own.
This is not one knot you'll easily remember, especially if you already know other knots too.
However, with practice you're sure to master the skill of tying one.
But if it's done correctly, it looks very good and classy, not to mention that it can also be a very cool style.
If you want to stand out from every other guy who wears a tie, wear an ediety knot.
It's a very unique way of doing your necktie - clean, stylish, different - definitely eye-catching, and nothing ordinary.
If it's done right, your regular tie may instantly turn into something much more than that.
And hey, not every guy or lady knows how to do one.
