It's spring again! But does your home still feel like it's stuck with the winter blues? Below are 10 top cleaning tips that are guaranteed to have your home sparkling in no time and all set for spring! 1.
Start by grabbing a big box or basket and place the items that do not belong to a particular part of your house to make cleaning easier.
Once you're done with all the cleaning, that's the time when you can go through the box and put everything back in their proper places.
2.
Clean the ceilings and the wall corners by dusting them down; you can also check to see if any of the walls have dirty spots that need to be scrubbed.
3.
Dust and clean with a damp cloth everything that is hanged on the walls - remember to not get pictures or artworks too wet to avoid the moisture from seeping into the frame and damaging the picture.
4.
Take down all the curtains or blinds and have them cleaned or include them in your next laundry day.
Clean out your windows as you do so.
5.
For the kitchen, clean out the toaster, the microwave oven, and the fridge.
Remember to scrape out any dried bits of food and apply a cleaning solution to kill any germs or bacteria in them.
Vacuum and clean the couches and chairs for your living and dining area, and make the beds in the bedroom.
6.
For the kitchen, wash the dishwasher with vinegar or baking soda to clean it.
For other parts of the house, you can use a vacuum attachment to clean all the fixtures and lamps.
7.
Wash and clean all of the drawers in your kitchen as well as the items that are stored there; this is also the time to sort out things you don't need and throw them out.
You should also clean out the books in the bookshelves as well as other decorations in other parts of the house.
8.
Clean out your stove especially the burner covers and the spill catchers for the kitchen.
For other parts of the house, you should clean out and vacuum your carpets.
9.
If your sink comes with a garbage disposal, wash it down in baking soda with warm water to remove any odors, and throw in some ice cubes to keep the blades sharp.
You should also take out the trash and line your can to prepare it for trash for the next day.
10.
Lastly, sweep and mop all of your floors clean.
As mentioned earlier, after you've completed all of the cleaning, you can go through the contents of the box you have where you put different items in which belonged to different parts of the house.
You can then return each piece to where they are supposed to be.
Happy Cleaning! Best, Pamela
