Are Solar Panels a Tornado Hazard?

103 41
On April 4, 2012 there were devastating Tornadoes which hit the Dallas Fort Worth Area.
That's not so common to have Tornadoes actually touchdown in the city.
Most likely, it's a fluke or an anomaly, but we are getting into the season for the area so it's not totally uncommon - however these were very big Tornadoes, and one threw around tractor-trailer trucks like toys in a Schneider Trucking truck yard - quite amazing and very powerful indeed.
Now then, in one of the devastation photos that went viral online, there was a picture of a solar panel rack and a roof top which only had one panel left on it.
So, where did all the rest of those solar panels go? Well, obviously they flew away and they landed somewhere or hit something, hopefully not someone.
Yes, that's a scary thought.
Of course, wind power wouldn't have done much better, nor would the large wind turbines been able to capture that energy.
Even if they could that level of wind would take out the power lines too, so there would be nowhere for that surge in energy to go anyway.
Those large wind turbines do have brakes and locks so, when the wind gets to high in velocity, they shut them down.
Solar panels although secured tend to sheer off and like I stated before; they fly away.
Without a round trip ticket (pun intended) so, in other words, they fly up to the Spirit in the Sky and fling to destinations unknown, just don't be in the way when they come in for that high-speed crash landing if you know what I mean.
Still, it's not just Tornadoes, what about other high-winds, what about Hurricanes? Florida is a sunny state and they'd like to soak up some of that solar power, but do they dare? After all, it's also prime-time Hurricane Season there for several months each year.
Now then, I have an acquaintance who treats global warming like some sort of religion.
If it's hot out, it's global warming, and any sort of weather anomaly hot, cold, windy, dry, flooding, drought; "global warming!" he proclaims.
Well, if global warming is real and if it does cause such anomalies in the weather, then we need to put more rules and regulations on solar energy, not fewer because those solar panels flying through the air in an F-2+ Tornado are deadly, and they don't have a pilot's license, and they are much more dangerous than a 16-year old with a flying car I'd say.
Please consider all this and think on it.
