Dalaman - Gateway to Turkey"s Coastline

103 28
Convenient Dalaman transfers will whisk you quickly and easily to some of the most beautiful parts of Turkey.
The airport is the gateway to many wonderful resorts and attractions.
The airport itself By the standards of international airports, this one is modestly sized.
Until the relatively recent opening of its major new international terminal, it was a small homely arrival point, but it has to be said that the new terminal has made things a lot easier for all concerned.
The airport and town were perhaps always best known as just a base point for the Dalaman transfers to other nearby resorts, but today the surrounding small villages and towns are becoming popular with tourists, due to their unspoilt nature.
Of course, for many visitors, the town will remain a jumping-off point for other perhaps better-known resorts in the wider area - and there are plenty to choose from.
The Turquoise Coast Turkey's most southwesterly coast is known as the Turquoise Coast.
It's probably fair to say that in some parts of the world, coastal names are invariably exotic and sometimes the reality fails to live up to the tag.
Here though, it's very different.
This coastline really is beautiful and consists largely of tiny coves and magnificent beaches - all against a backdrop of mountains that fall into, what really is, a turquoise sea.
Words can't really do any justice to the beauty of this area, you'll just need to look at some images or visit it yourself.
What's also attractive about this part of Turkey are the towns and villages.
They range from sleepy, small locations (much of this area has restricted development protection) right up to the attractions of sophisticated resorts, such as Marmaris.
They are all serviced by the convenient Dalaman transfers.
If you like cute resorts in great locations, try any or all of Antalya, Kalkan or Patara with its great beach and ancient ruins.
If all that isn't enough to tempt you, this area abounds with ancient history.
It was once called the Kingdom of Lycia, which eventually became heavily colonised by the ancient Greeks.
Today there are tombs, ruined cities and ancient sites almost everywhere.
Some visitors express amazement that some of the long-abandoned cities haven't been fully excavated, but that's explained by the fact that there are simply so many of them.
Sun and sea True, ancient history and chic towns are only part of a holiday and many visitors will want to do some serious beach-and-sun worshipping.
They won't be disappointed! Surprisingly, in spite of heavy investment in the area, many of the beautiful smaller beaches and coves along this coast are completely inaccessible by road.
What that means is that while you have a huge selection of local beaches to choose from, you also have the option to take a cruise on a local Gulet (a type of yacht), which will take you to some beautiful, unspoilt coves to swim, fish and have an incredible meal in some of the best scenery in the Mediterranean.
If that all sounds like your sort of holiday, then you'll love Turkey! Book on to one of the many regular Dalaman transfers to take you to your hotel for the start of a unique experience.
