Drawing a Number Line

• 1). Use a straight edge to draw a horizontal line on a piece of paper.
  
  
• 2). Make 21 vertical hash marks, equal distance apart, along the line.
  
  
• 3). Write "0" below the center hash mark.
  
  
• 4). Write the numbers 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10 under the hash marks to the right of 0. These are your positive integers.
  
  
• 5). Write the numbers -1, -2, -3, -4, -5, -6, -7, -8, -9 and -10 in reverse order under the hash marks to the left of 0. These are your negative integers.
