How to Make a Twin Bed Into a King

Creating a King-Size Bed

• 1). Locate two twin mattresses and measure their complete dimensions. You'll need these measurements in order to purchase properly fitted bed sheets and bed frame. Twin Extra Large (XL) mattresses are the perfect size to create a king-size bed because an XL is already the same length as a king. (If dimensions differ, refer to Tips section.)
  
  
• 2). Purchase a bed frame and bedding that properly fits the dimensions of your combined twin beds. A king split bed frame will properly fit two twin XL's. You can buy two twin bed frames and combine them together if the frame doesn't create a gap between the two beds. Set up your bed frame.
  
  
• 3). Place the two twin bed mattresses parallel length-wise together on the bed frame you've decided to use, pushing them as close together as you can.
  
  
• 4). Set the bed bridge in between the beds in the "crack" area by following its specific instructions. Some products, such as a foam bed bridge, simply fit onto the mattress, while others (such as Create-A-King) strap onto the bed in addition to filling the crack. If you've opted to not purchase a bed bridge, skip this step, especially if you and your sleeping partner don't mind sticking to your own sides of the bed.
  
  
• 5). Fit your mattress cover, which can be any material, over the two twin beds to further hold them together. Then finish dressing the bed with your bed sheets, blankets and pillows.
