Decorating A Room For Your Teen
There are ways that you can decorate to satisfy what they want and what you want too.
Decorating for teens may sound complicated but its actually easy once you get started and you can make it possible with minimal expense.
Teens want a room that is cool enough to bring their friends over and hang out in without mom and dad bugging them.
The coolest rooms can be done in just a few days and the price is very affordable.
The main thing about a teens room is dividing it up where they can have a place to listen to their music and scatter out their CD's without interfering with the rest of the room.
This music area can be in a corner so it's out of the way and you may want to put musical instruments and any other music related objects in this area.
You may find a square throw rug that is black and white or with musical art displayed on it to decorate that corner.
If your teen has a few old recorded CD's that are no longer any good, hang them from the ceiling using fishing wire at different heights.
Teens also want a place that they can play their games and watch cool movies and music videos in their room as well.
You can arrange an entertainment section in their room which includes an entertainment center or a shelf that displays their television, video system and games, DVD's and VHS movies.
You can purchase two beanbags to put in their room for chairs.
They will be able to watch a movie, play games or watch their favorite show on television without interrupting their life.
You may want to put a small apartment size refrigerator in their room around the entertainment area for your child's soda or snacks that they can help themselves to when they want.
These refrigerators can be purchased for under $100.
00 at any local store.
Their bed should be a place to sleep not to watch television, listen to music and other stuff.
Now that you have a place for them to do all of this you will need to make their bed more personal.
They need to feel comfortable so use warm colors to put on their bed in order to make them feel that way.
Use throw pillows to decorate their bed with.
Put a throw blanket on the foot of the bed so that they can rest on their bed when they feel like it without tearing up the covers.
You may also want to put a lamp by their bed in case they want to read before they go to sleep.
Teens need to feel independent while under the supervision of their parents.
It doesn't matter what size room your child has you can make this teen room possible with a little planning and minimal cost.
Your teen may decide to spend more time at home.
